Having used Camelbak before and then reading the following Camelbak Description, I thought it was worth trying:
“The Ultra 10 was designed to endure one of the toughest trail races on earth: the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc.
This year, our most rugged vest gets an upgrade with even lighter materials and a 2-liter reservoir that delivers more water with every sip.”
All in all, I quite enjoy this Hydration Vest. I’m usually concerned about running out of water mid event, but with a 2l bladder and space for 2x 500ml bottles in the front pockets, this is perfect. (500ml bottles will be reviewed shortly)
The material is lightweight and breathable so I am not aware of any additional heat being generated as a result of wearing the vest.
My one criticism is that I have to continually tug on the straps that sit on my sides beneath my arms mid run. With all the jostling they loosen, so every couple of minutes I am reaching down to give them a tug and tighten them again.
The vest is well assembled and stitched. I took a horrible fall in a trail race falling about a meter into some rocks and brush. Whilst the contents of my bag got crushed in the fall, my Camelbak came out unscathed.
Besides for the annoyance of the forever loosening straps, I can definitely recommend this vest.
